Accomplish means to complete or perform or perfect. Imagine! The Most High God completes and performs and perfects every single circumstance and situation that concerns (or is about or on behalf of) His followers.
The second part of the verse explains why He would do such a thing. It is because of His checed – His goodness, kindness, and faithfulness, translated as lovingkindness in the NAS.
So you see, the Lord has some very good reasons to tell His people not to worry or fret or strive. (Matthew 6, Psalm 37, Psalm 46, and others.)
It is because He is good. He is kind. He is faithful. Forever and without end.
In addition to all that, He knows what concerns us. He is working on our behalf. He will complete situations for us. He will perform mightily for us. He will perfect circumstances for us. Forever and without end.
The next time you catch yourself worrying or fretting or striving, recite this verse. If you’re like me, it will be needed before the sun sets tonight! But keep at it and start a new habit of responding to your worry with the truth. Each changed response is a victory and brings you closer to letting go and walking in peace.
