I agree with the points in this post, Can a Christian Drink Alcohol? But I also think the better question is, why would a Christian want to drink? The bottom line is that if one never takes a drink, one will never become an alcoholic. Why risk it? For the sake of freedom to do whatever you want just because you can?
Alcohol is one of many tactics the enemy uses to destroy people and all he really has to do is get them started. Then he can sit back, laugh, rub his filthy, gnarled hands together, and move on to someone else who thinks they can handle their booze. Again I ask, why risk it?
Did Jesus die a gruesome, painful death so we can be free to drink alcohol? Or did He die so that we can be free of its lure?
So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
