Profile pictures superimposed with a rainbow.
Company logos infused with rainbow colors.
The White House where the President of the United States of America resides lit with rainbow lights.
All for “gay pride.” My fingers rebel in just typing the words.
Pride? Really? Pride for people getting special protection because of who they have sex with? Is that what humans have reduced themselves to? How incredibly sad. And it is also a very slippery slope. Children could be next. Or animals. Is that what these people want? Maybe so:
The heart is more deceitful than all else
And is desperately sick;
Who can understand it?
Sick hearts and all, how about taking pride in helping the less fortunate? How about taking pride in standing up for the unborn? How about taking pride in medical missions? Feeding the hungry? Working with inner city children to keep them out of gangs? For heaven’s sake, pride in something–anything–that is not vulgar and depraved!
My rainbow-laced newsfeed brought the words hearty approval to mind. A word search quickly revealed this verse:
And although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. Romans 1:32
The entire last half of Romans 1 describes exactly what is happening in our culture today. Please read it.
Isn’t it astounding that this God the culture rejects as non-existent directed men who lived thousands of years ago to write down what this culture–these people–would be doing now? And that He warned them of the consequences?
The fact is that unless they repent, the end for those who practice homosexuality is death. Wouldn’t it be prudent to believe that the One who predicts the future with such accuracy will also judge as He has warned?
The rainbow is, in reality, the symbol of God’s promise that He would never again destroy the earth with a flood. Too bad the enemy has stolen it and caused it to become a symbol of man’s depravity and God’s impending judgment.
I ask you, where is the pride in that?
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. Romans 1:26-27
But here’s the hope, for our merciful God does not leave anyone hopeless:
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You.
